Hi, my name is Mariane. You most probably know me. Otherwise you usually do not find this blog because I discouraged search engines to find it.

Why this blog or diary or whatever it may be?

I was looking for companions to travel with in 2010. Especially for the trekking part in Nepal/China and to get around in Mongolia – where in the end I have not been on my entire trip and I actually also found out that travelling alone is not that bad either. However, I still wouldn’t mind some companions every now and than. Anyway, I also just like to share my thoughts and experiences. Because especially when travelling alone it is sometimes very hard not to be able to discuss with other people what I just observed. So this is also one of the reasons why I am usually very happy to read some comments to what I write. Also by mail. What I also would like to show is that sometimes it is very interesting to just look at your  backdoor. I share my observations and what I understand of what people tell me. As we often do not share a common language my interpretation might be completely off sometimes. So see it as a story and take it with a pinch of salt.

Apart from that, if you need any information about train travelling in Europe or Asia. Feel free to ask me, I am very happy to assist wherever I can.
